Remaining Relative Visa (Subclass 115)

emaining Relative Visa (subclass 115) (offshore) is a permanent visa that allows an older relative of an eligible Australian citizen, permanent resident or an eligible New Zealand citizen, to live in Australia as a permanent resident. This is an offshore visa and requires the applicant to be outside of Australia while lodgement and grant is processed.

The recipient of this visa, ultimately, will be eligible for Australian citizenship and will be able to work and study in Australia. They are also entitled to Medicare (public health care system), sponsor eligible family members to come to Australia and to travel indefinitely for a 5-year term.

This visa allows a person whose only near relatives are living in Australia to migrate and live permanently in Australia. Near relatives include your parents, your partner’s parents, step-parents, brother, sister, step-brother or step-sister, child or step-child above 18 and is not a dependent child or child or step-child below 18 but is not in your or your partner’s daily care and control.
